VALENTINE’S DAY

Enjoy a romantic, modern Japanese prefix dinner at Yakuza for $60 with an optional cocktail/wine/sake pairing for $30. Seatings are at 5, 6, 7:30 and 8:30pm.

Multi-course dinner includes:
- Amuse bouche of Tillamook Bay oysters on the half shell with yuzu mignonette
- Grilled octopus salad with fennel, daikon, baby mizuna, virgin olive oil and ponzu
- Salt cured salmon carpaccio with salmon roe caviar, tangerine, black radish and Meyer lemon oil
- Hamachi sashimi served over cripsy Asian pear with persimmon vinaigrette and cilantro sprouts
- Seared duck breast with braised root vegetables, blood orange sauce, and pear chutney
- Seared scallops with sunchokeconfit and buttered ponzu

Plus additional Yakuza menu favorites!

For dessert we’ll be featuring a custom Salt and Straw Valentine’s Day sorbet made especially for Yakuza and truffles from Alma Chocolates.

Legend has it that the famously tender Kobe beef comes from Wagyu cows who are fed a steady diet of beer and massaged daily with warm sake by beautiful maidens—all while grazing in the mountains of Hyogo, Japan. Far-fetched, yes, but after a bite of the Yakuza burger, it seems plausible.

NEW YEAR’S EVE AT YAKUZA

Ring in 2012 Yakuza-style with an incredible 5-course omakase dinner. We’ll be mixing classic menu favorites like Kale Salad, Hangar Steak, Ahi Tuna, Salmon and Hamachi with seasonal plates including Kobacha Squash, Charred Brussels Sprouts, Soba Noodles with Jalapeno Ponzu, Duck Consomme and more.

5-course dinner and champagne toast is just $55 with optional wine/sake pairing for an additional $25. Seatings are at 5:30 and 8pm.

Dine early and stay late, or join us after 10pm when we’ll roll out the New Year’s Eve late-night bar menu: Slow Braised Pork Ribs, Duck Fat Popcorn (yes!), Gyoza and more, with prices ranging from just $3 to $8. The Kuza Cabin, soaking tub and fire pit will all be available for your late night revelry and indulgence.

Add Beet Martinis, Whiskey #2, Sake Bombs, draft specials and plenty of flowing champagne to welcome 2012 with open arms and satiated bellies.

YAKUZA OPEN FRIDAY NOVEMBER 25

A quick note to wish our friends and family a Happy Thanksgiving! Yakuza will be closed November 23 and 24 but we’ll be OPEN FRIDAY NOVEMBER 25 serving all your favorite salads, sashimi, plates and rolls including KaleSalad, Sashimi Trio, Scallops Tempura and of course, the legendary Yakuza Burger. Ditch the turkey hangover and enjoy modern, delicious Japanese pub fare along with sake and accompanying cocktails instead. (Mmmm Whiskey Ginger!).

We are also taking reservations for Holiday Parties throughout the month of December. Our private back dining room is perfect for groups of 10-20 and the large dining room can accommodate groups of any size. Halloween weekend at Yakuza!

Join us Saturday October 29 at Yakuza for pre-Halloween weekend festivities – an all-night Happy Hour menu (and pricing) will be in effect from 5pm to close for those decked out in Halloween regalia. We have $75 gift certificates to DOC, our sister restaurant, for both scariest and funniest costumes. Staff will get in on the action too – vote for the best staff costume and they too can win a delicious dinner a DOC. Halloween specials like Pumpkin Tempura, Zombie Hand Rolls and other gory menu surprises are sure to prepare you for a night of revelry. Costumes and cocktails are both strongly encouraged!

Families are invited to Kid’s Happy Hour on Sunday October 30 at 5pm for similarly festive Halloween menu delights along with our regular Kids Menu: choose 1-2-3 items for 1, 2 or 3 dollars each, while grownups enjoy the full Yakuza dinner and drinks menu. The first 10 families to arrive in costume will be comped $10 off their evening’s tab plus an additional $50 in savings on future visits. We’ll also be awarding a night out at DOC (aka date night) for best costumes so get planning!

As always, we’ll be closed Monday (October 31) and be out or trick-or-treating. But stop by our corner Tuesday November 1 for the 3rd Annual Dia de los Muertos Celebration from 11am – 9pm. Neighborhood businesses including Yakuza, Extracto, Milagros, Heart in Hand Preschool, Roots, People’s Yoga and Autentica will host special “Day of the Dead” activities and live performances throughout the day. Muertos parades are planned for noon, 2:30pm and 8pm. We’ll be open and serving up special food and drink starting at 6pm, hosting the Ballet Folklorico Papalotl (7:30-8:00pm), plus Muertos mask making throughout the night. We’ll plan on seeing you there!

Yakuza has been nominated for the Red Tri Totally Awesome Awards in the Kids Cheap Eats category. If you’ve ever joined us on Mother’s Day, Father’s Day or for our regular Kid’s Happy Hour every Weds, Thursday and Sunday from 5-6pm you know how great the Yakuza 1-2-3 Kids Menu is. Kids choose 1-2-3 items for 1-2-3 dollars each: avocado or edamame ($1), noodles or rice ($2), and shrimp, chicken or pork katzu ($3). Simple, healthy and perfect for even the pickiest of eaters.
